(1825-1899) Office diagonally across from Christ Lutheran Church, Chambersburg, St. Pressed into service as an acting assistant U.S. Army Surgeon from July 1, 1863, until October 24, 1863. Dr. Bloom of Gettysburg College noted, "Gettysburg physicians such as . . . Robert Horner also turned out to minister to the wounded . . . they appear to have made no distinction between friend and foe."
