These are some of the most unusual rock drawings found around Cedar City, Utah. They are unique from any other writing found in the area. Some scholars believe they are related to early Spaniards who came through the area. There is a lot of mystery that surrounds these drawings, including stories of buried treasure. These petroglyphs are also a good example of human tampering. In order to make the glyphs more legable, someone traced them with white paint. This should not be done. Petroglyphs should be enjoyed but left along. Even human touch can leave oil on the surface which in time will make them deteriorate more quickly.
