Caption
The Black-crowned Night Heron reaches lengths of 20 inches with a wing span of 44 inches. It is a fairly small, stocky, short-legged and short-necked heron. It has red eyes, yellow legs, a black bill, black crown and back. Its face, throat, foreneck, chest and belly are white. Its wings are blue-gray.
