This giant male gorilla is really quite gentle. Gorillas are vegetarians, eating ripe fruits, bark, leaves, stems, and insects. They travel in groups of five to ten led by at least one adult male. The silvery males are sometimes refered to as silverbacks. Their range is in central and equatorial west Africa in the lowland rainforests.
