Company F, 68th New York Infantry, Von Gilsa’s Brigade - Born in Germany. Joined age 17. Started as musician, delivered messages, and was a barber. Wounded July 2, 1863, E. Cemetery Hill. Jeweler, barber, and Justice of the Peace after the war. Died in 1919 at age 75.
