Company F, 2nd Pennsylvania Cavalry, Provost Guard, Army Headquarters - Born in Toluca, Mexico, May 1836 as Franscisco Theodosius Olasquaga. Immigrated to Pennsylvania after the Mexican war. Enlisted in the Civil War leaving two small children and a pregnant wife. In May 1864, a horsing accident crushed left side of his face, losing sight in his left eye. Prisoner at Libby, Belle Isle, and Salisbury prisons. Escaped the latter on February 11, 1865 walking 340 miles in 33 days to Union HQ in Knoxville. Died of TB, March 8, 1910.
