(1823-1892) Baltimore Street. Stahle, the editor and publisher of the Democratic Compiler, arranged for a Confederate Doctor to help a wounded Union colonel, William Dudley, during the battle. Stahl’s political enemies misconstrued his intentions which led to his imprisonment with Confederates at Fort McHenry, Maryland.
