The Alae Ula or Hawaiian Moorhen is a small Hawaiian waterbird. Both the adult males and females are black on top and a dark slate blue underneath. They have a prominent red and yellow bill. Their feet are lobed - not webbed. They are one of the many endanged Hawaiian birds.
