Caption

It is believed the emigrants camped on this small brook which runs from the bottom right to the left side of the photo. This brook or creek is now called Battle Creek. This location is about 4 miles north of the Bear River which matches James Johns 4 miles. The highway running from the lower right to the bottom of the photo is old US 91 which goes from Preston to Pocatello, Idaho.
