Caption
On the right side of the photo is the community of Weston, Idaho. In the center of the photo is the Weston Creek drainage and creek. This is the August 15, 1841 camp site. James John wrote: "today we did not travel for perhaps not more than 8 miles on a straight line but the way was rough and winding and hilly we encamped on a small branch about 3 miles from the river that is from Bear river." The area in the lower center portion of the photo is 3 miles from the Bear River.
