Photo SIA3227 was taken looking southeast on the trail and fifty was taken looking northwest on the trail at the same place. Note the hummocks. After leaving the abandoned wagons, Howard Stansbury in 1849 recorded finding some broken ox yoke and wood among some hummocks so they made a fire & some coffee then laid down to rest on the hummocks with the mules tied to the brush growing out of the hummocks.
