Caption
This is what I called the Retrieval Trail that branched off of the main trail west of the wagon excavations. When the emigrants dropped their wagons and rushed their stock to the springs then after being recruited they returned for the wagons. When they came to Silver Island Point they could see their wagons on the flats made larger by the mirages, then they would head directly to the wagons and noting that the the travel was OK they would then take their wagons the same way. Not many wagons came this way.
